Aurora's Fog - RPG Elements: Inventory

Hey! Here's some news about RPG elements. During January, a lot of work has been done, but the most important change is the Inventory. Now items in the inventory are stored not as objects, but as IDs, which allows: to reduce the load on the RAM (since less information is stored); NPCs will now also have an inventory with items and equipment stored in it (+ changeable clothes for NPCs), and all this can be easily saved, which brings the saving system one step closer.

I plan to revert to Adult elements next month. I have accumulated a lot of ideas, and I also need finish pose and skills system. By the way! If I manage to quickly implement everything I have conceived, then I have plans to add a new character as a symbol of this year, so I advise you to follow the news so as not to miss the vote;)

Major changes:

1. Game Settings: Improved settings menu:

  • The interface has been improved;
  • Added translation of pop-up text when hovering over a setting in the Graphics menu;
  • Added option "Mouse Inverse";

2. Character Controller:

  • The controller has been changed from "simple" to physical (Rigidbody) for better interaction with the game world and its objects.
  • Falling from great heights deals damage. When falling from a height of 10 units or more the player will take damage. At the moment, the damage is dealt to the player's health, but in the future, only the player's legs will receive damage.
  • Added landing sound effect;

3. Inventory: Seriously redesigned so that NPCs can also have an inventory with items and equipment;

  • Now all items have their own ID and receive data from the Database;
  • Picking up an item of a certain type now plays a certain sound (Weapon, Armor, Food);
  • Improved Inventory interface;
  • The window for displaying item stats has been redesigned: now it has a new look, and item stats are highlighted in color;
  • Added a system of item's durability;
  • Added a context menu when clicking on an item with the mouse button (for the convenience of players who are used to the mouse);

4. Armor/Clothes:

  • Added Censorship for Male character: when you enable it, it will add Underpants to Male's model;
  • Added a new method of fitting clothes to the character, which reduces the number of "gaps" on the clothes;
