Aurora's Fog is 7 years old!

Hey, guys! Today Aurora turns 7 years old and it's time to sum everything up. Unfortunately, the development dragged on for a long time, and the game did not find any success among players. At first, I thought that it was all about the lack of content and that the situation would change over time, but in the end, from year to year, everything only became sadder. And yes, I won't be blaming the players for anything, and admit that the blame is only on me. I apologize for this, and I hope in the future I will be able to put the game in order.

And, unfortunately, the release of the 0.12 update in public will be postponed indefinitely. I hope for your understanding.

And thank you all for taking your time to play the game, reading posts, leaving likes and giving advice or criticism, this is very important to me.

Hey, guys! I don't know why you keep saying that I quit the development, because I did not say anything even close to that. All that I said that I fucked up and was naive to think that I could make some money to hire someone for help to speed the development but after few years I got some skills and now I'm just making all by myself...

And the 0.12 build is already released on Boosty and public release is just postponed.

And it's quite sad that all this time you could help me just by leaving your comment or rating the game, which would (I hope) help the game to get more attention on the site but instead you remember about the game only now. Thanks anyway!

"we're postponing release indefinitely" is how a lot of places tell the public "we're not working on this anymore."

even postponing the next version release "indefinitely" will be interpreted as not having plans to release the next version, ever. (the delay is quite frustrating considering the ore bug is in the the version here.)

comments, ratings, and downloads are only part of the equation.  you need regular updates, also, to have the game pop up in the "recent" category.

/most/ of the games in situations like yours, where the solo dev thought they'd make more money, and now have to delay or cancel things, almost without exception they  have not released more often than every three months.

conversely, /most/ of the "most popular" games release updates every month.  there are exceptions, but they exist in niches where no competitor has come close to their functionality.

most unfortunatly, you exist in a niche where you are not the top level of functionality.

if i might make a humble suggestion:  your gameplay "pool" is very wide, but also very shallow.  from what you've posted of your plans, your work is going to be "widening" the pool further, with almost no effort being put forward to depth.  this means that pretty much everything there is to do in your game, you can do it in a couple of hours.

when you've added what you're currently working on, perhaps you can go back and fill in a lot of this.  things like unifying the sex scene system, completing said system for the currently available characters, and adding more gear, especially to the crafting system.  give us things to do once we've completed a patch's new content that might hold us interested till the next patch.

Quite a good summary actually.

I played the demo a while ago and enjoyed it, but I think this is the case where the "less is more" approach would be perfect.

I get that there's a wider world that the dev wants to create, but I think that polishing the core systems and deepening existing characters is a way to go.

Although that is a monumental task for a solo dev nonetheless and I totally understand that.

Oh, that is sad, i like the game and was happy for every update and progress.

That is sad to hear, I have always enjoyed each and every update, but I can also understand only having a handful of followers, might not be enough to sustain!

Спасибо! для твоей работы!

When some "devs" got 65k on kickstarter and 1k on Patreon in the first month by promising "Open world RPG with girls" and then deliver tech-demo with some chars demonstration (with 5mins of "gameplay") and then just disappear - that's sad.

But at the same time people keep calling me a scammer and that I milk people. But I keep developing the game, and still developing it.

You got some experience in game dev under your belt now! So maybe next time might be your gem!
